Peaks of Mount Qaf

Hi, this is my latest piece, a rather quick project that came from some loose sketching spree. It depicts desert mountain peaks, enriched by holy temples carved from the rock, guarded by priests and Pterosaurs like creatures. I wanted to tackle a bit of creature design on this one, so I made countless sketches based on my research on the subject.

I was aiming for them to be almost aquatic like, as well as bird like ( flying dinosaurs ), sort of a mixed species that can fly and dive underwater, so I pushed smooth lines, elegance and aerodynamics into the design, but added some roughness as well, since they live in the unforgiving environment.

Hopefully I managed to provide entertainment in the pixels.
